**“I’ve been going to Skin & Sanctuary throughout this year and couldn’t recommend them more.
I first met Sonia, the founder, who is absolutely lovely - friendly, genuine, and hands-on in the day-to-day running of the clinic. When I initially emailed for an appointment, she took the time to call me personally, talk through the different treatment options, explain the backgrounds of the doctors and practitioners, and book me in for a consultation rather than try to sell me anything.
Since then, I’ve been working with Dr. Mayoni and completed a full Human Health programme that has genuinely made a huge difference for me. I also see Nicole regularly, who has given me fantastic skincare advice and treatments - things I’ve never prioritised before but now really value.
I’m now a member and feel strongly about supporting this local business. I couldn’t be happier to have such a trusted clinic right on my doorstep. Highly recommend S&S!”***
Why this review stopped me in my tracks
This review is incredibly humbling.
I hesitated before sharing it - partly because we’re human and won’t always get everything right. Those who’ve had the misfortune of me (Sonia) attempting to add a booking to the diary will know exactly what I mean.
But I realised this review says something important about what has always matters most: the client.
It reflects something every member of the Skin & Sanctuary team believes to the core, even if it’s hard to articulate day to day. We care deeply about the people who walk through our doors, and sometimes it’s difficult to express that without sounding sentimental (or a little weird).
There are certainly days where, from a business perspective, it would be easier to simply book the treatment someone asks for and leave it at that. (Though I would never have gotten past Fatma). But then a patient sends words like these, and you’re reminded that nothing compares to being able to use your expertise and passion to truly help someone - whether that’s through skincare, injectables, functional medicine, or simply listening properly for the first time in a long time.
And at Skin & Sanctuary, this truly start with your Consultation.
So what actually happens behind the scenes of a consultation?
1. A real conversation — not a checklist
Most people arrive with a particular treatment in mind. (TikTok is great - but also has a lot to answer for).
But very often, what they really need is a space to talk:
• What’s changed?
• What’s bothering you?
• What would you like to feel more of?
• What isn’t working — and hasn’t worked for a while?
- What skincare makes you smile?
- What do you like about your skin?
There’s usually a moment, sometimes five minutes in, sometimes twenty, where the whole pace of the appointment shifts. The patient realises the consultation isn’t about selling a treatment; it’s about understanding their life, their skin, their health, and their goals. And saying where, if at all, we can help.
It’s the moment where shoulders soften.
Where someone says, “I really don’t know …”
Where they feel safe enough to slow down.
2. Your story matters more than the treatment menu
Our team assesses your skin. They use technology, a skin scan and their years of experience to discuss what’s going on. But we also understand that it’s you that have always lived with your skin so you’re instincts about what’s happening are important,
No two people age, react, glow, break out, or recover the same way.
No two patients should ever be given exactly the same plan.
This is why Nicole’s skincare plans are all slightly different.
Why Fatma created and adapts every Skin & Sanctuary bespoke facial
Why Dr Mayoni’s Human Health work is so layered, detailed, and personal.
There is no template.
You are the template.
3. We plan — together
A great consultation doesn’t end with a list of “shoulds”.
It ends with clarity.
Sometimes the plan is gentle: change your skincare, hydrate more, let’s re-evaluate.
Sometimes it’s more targeted: LYMA, microneedling, injectables.
Sometimes it’s deeper: hormones, fatigue, metabolism, inflammation - the things that quietly sit beneath everything you see in the mirror.
The plan isn’t about perfection. It’s about support.
4. You leave feeling clearer than when you arrived
Patients often tell us that simply understanding why something is happening already makes them feel better - before anything is even done.
That is the real work of a consultation.
Not the technology.
Not the treatment.
Not the “before and after.”
But the clarity that comes from true expertise. And then the confidence — that comes from genuinely being seen.
The truth is simple
Most people don’t book a consultation because they want a product or device.
They book because they want understanding.
And when a patient tells us, “I finally feel like myself again,” or “This has made such a difference,” it reminds us why we do things the way we do - even when it’s slower, more complex, or less commercially straightforward.
The consultation is not an entry point.
It’s the foundation.
If you’ve been thinking about starting your own journey
Whether your concern is skincare, injectables, energy, hormones, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself, a consultation is the best place to begin.
It’s not a commitment - it’s a conversation.
You’re welcome to book online, call, or message us if that’s easier.
And if you’re unsure which clinician is right for you, we can guide you.
