Polynucleotides: Regeneration Over Reinvention

This month, we’re introducing a new series: one treatment, one focus, explored with depth and intention. Because our patients have asked for more—more insight, more science, more clarity.

And that’s why we begin with Polynucleotides - the injectable treatment that finally lives up to the word natural.

What Are Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides (PNs) are purified DNA fragments—biocompatible, regenerative, and used for years in medicine to support healing. When introduced into the skin, they don’t fill or freeze. They signal.

They gently encourage your skin to:

  • Repair inflammation

  • Build collagen and elastin

  • Boost hydration

  • Improve tone and texture from the inside out

And what makes them extraordinary is this:
They don’t impose anything on your face. They remind your skin what it’s capable of.

The Era of Truly Natural Injectables

At Skin & Sanctuary, we’ve always attracted patients who want their treatments to be subtle, intelligent, and grounded in real science.

Many of our clients are cautious about injectables - not because they don’t want to look fresher, but because they don’t want to look like someone else.

Polynucleotides are finally an answer to that tension.

Yes, they’re injectables.

But they work with your skin’s biology—not against it.

And the results? Gentle. Gradual. Undeniable.

Who Is It For

Polynucleotides are especially effective for:

  • The eye area (dark circles, crepey texture)

  • Fine lines and uneven tone

  • Post-acne scarring or barrier damage

  • Stressed, sensitive, or “over-treated” skin

  • Skin that’s tired

They’re suitable for all skin tones and types, and especially welcome if you’ve struggled to find something that feels both effective and light-touch.

What Makes It Different?

Here’s something most clinics don’t tell you:

Polynucleotides aren’t here to replace treatments like filler or Botox. But they work beautifully alongside them - especially if you want to protect and extend the life of your injectables, or even take a break and rebuild skin quality from within.

And unlike typical “skin boosters,” they’re not just about hydration. They:

➤ Increase cellular turnover

➤ Boost microcirculation

➤ Calm inflammation

➤ And support long-term tissue repair

It’s not a quick fix - it’s a shift in how we approach skin ageing altogether.

What to Expect From Treatment

A consultation with the medical team (to ensure it’s the best treatment for you followed by a course of 3 treatments, spaced 2–3 weeks apart. The procedure takes about 45 minutes, and most people experience some bumps around the injection points and  mild redness or swelling for a few hours. A medical numbing cream is used over the area or areas to be injected,

You’ll start to feel the benefits within 1–2 weeks—more moisture, less sensitivity.

You’ll see the difference by week 3–5—smoother texture, brighter tone, firmer contours.

The effect is cumulative, subtle, and undeniable.

At Skin & Sanctuary We use Croma’s PolyPhil range. Dr Mayoni, our Medical Director, is a Croma ambassador—and what she values most is the brand’s commitment to clinical evidence, safety, and integrity.
